Lake Zurich at your feet, and “s’Vrenelisgärtli” (Vreni’s little garden) on the horizon.
The Gottschalkenberg is a well-known relaxation and hiking area at an attitude of 1,186 metres above sea level. The “Bellevue” vantage point is particularly popular, with the area of Lake Zurich on the one side, and the Alpine panorama of Glarus on the other. The “Gottschäli”, as it is called by the locals, is best reached from Oberägeri via the Raten Pass, or from Finstersee via the Sparenhütte on a forest road.
