ARTS AND CULTURE
A walk through Zug will take you past the Casino Theatre, the city’s beacon of culture, as well as past countless works of art displayed in public spaces. Zug is a place where cabaret and “great art” are enjoyed in equal measure. So if you love culture and the arts, this is the place for you.
A place for a good laugh
ZUG, THE CANTON WITH A SENSE OF HUMOUR
If you need a good laugh, Zug has got you covered. The city is home to many a quick wit and many a sharp tongue. For example, the famous actor, comedian, cabaret artist and producer Marco Rima has lived in Oberägeri for years. Comedian Rob Spence lives in Zug and comedian Sven Furrer lives in Baar. The born-and-bred Zugers include the cabaret artist, comedian and satirist Michael Elsener, and both halves of the cabaret duo Divertimento: Jonny Fischer and Manuel Burkart. And perhaps you’ve heard of the famous Schmirinski’s? Stephan Schmidlin, one half of the duo, is from Cham.
What can we say? Zug is a canton with a sense of humour.
