SHROUDED IN MYSTERY

ALONG THE RIVER LORZE

The Lorze is part of what makes Zug Zug. It is both beautiful and mysterious. It rises in Lake Ägeri and meanders through the Lorzetobel (Lorze Ravine) towards Zug. Down in the Lorzetobel, you will find the mystical world of the Höllgrotten Caves. The cave system is one of a kind and a sight truly worth seeing. Just after Baar, the Lorze passes the densely forested Baarburg. Baar's most famous symbol is a conspicuously flattened, forested mountain, where it is said that the “Erdmandli” (dwarves) live. The Lorze flows into Lake Zug at Zug, then flows out again at Cham and, after about 10 km, it flows into the Reuss at Obfelden.
