ALONG THE RIVER LORZE

THINGS TO SEE

The bridges of the Lorzetobel (Lorze Ravine) are undoubtedly among the most impressive sights to be seen around here. The oldest of them dates back to the Middle Ages and goes directly over the Lorze at the level of the river. The two newer bridges were built in the 20th century. They are 50 metres above the Lorzetobel. Not far from the bridges, on a rocky promontory, you will find the ruins of Wildenburg, a castle that was founded in the 13th century by the Lords of Hünenberg. However, according to legend, the densely forested Baarburg was inhabited even before the founding of the castle. It is said that the “Erdmandliloch”, a curious gap on the eastern slope, has always been the home of the “Erdmandli” (dwarves).
