Schluechthof Farm and Playground, Cham
Experiencing a farm at close quarters
A wealth of experience awaits children at the Schluechthof Farm.
Children cannot fail to enjoy themselves at this playground on the farm premises, as they are watched by cows chewing the cud. First of all they can go and see all the pigs, piglets, calves, chickens and bees and then go on to play on the playground itself. Just see their faces light up when they see the pulp elevator, Wendy house and old tractor. Then there is the climbing area and the sand pit where toys can be hired. The Schluechthof Adventure Playground, which is privately funded, is actually on the site of the agricultural college which runs this fully working farm. Its aim is to ensure families get to know more about what it is like to work with nature, how to go about looking after animals and see how food is produced. The farm is open to visitors on a daily basis and you can even watch farmers milking cows. Naturally, out of consideration for the animals, regulations need to be followed. If you have forgotten anything to buy for breakfast or an early morning snack, you can easily buy a range of fresh products at the farm shop.
