Cham - Muri

Cham to Muri
Distance: approx. 19 km
Difficulty: easy-medium

First stop at the St. Jakob Church in Cham, known for its ceiling painting. Pay attention to the face of Josef and headdress of the three wisemen. Continue towards Röhrliberg and then to Wart in Hünenberg where the restaurant facade shows the warning shot at the Battle of Morgarten.

Follow the trail down to the Reuss plain continuing to the wooden bridge in Sins, where each end has a different building style. Stop at the church and take a look at the ceiling painting, comparing it to the one in Cham.

The trail above the Reuss Valley takes you through beautiful mixed beech woods towards Benzenschwil. Follow the stream to the woodland pond and continue through a dark forest to Muri. A visit to the monastery is a must, as it has the longest facade in Switzerland.

From Muri you can take the train back to Cham.
