River landscape Reuss tour

Cham
Distance: approx. 17.5km
Difficulty: easy-medium

The tour beginning at the Cham train station follows natural trails to the destination Wart. Further on, the trail goes downhill in the direction of the Zollbrücke. One part of the stretch is very interesting. It takes us along the Reuss River where we can observe a typical river landscape. With a bit of luck you can see rare birds such as the kingfisher or a bright yellow oriole or enjoy a colorful Siberian sword lily. Various display boards provide information about the fauna and flora. We cross the Reuss plain and arrive at the convent Frauental, giving us the opportunity to relax for a while. After a short climb we can look back and enjoy the view onto the convent before reaching the village Rumentikon. We head back to Cham on natural trails via Friesencham.
The route, including a detailed description of the hike, can be found in the following tour description sheet (PDF sheet available in German only).
