Distance: approx. 17.5 km / Difficulty: easy-medium
The tour begins at the Cham train station and guides us to our destination Wart over country roads. We cross the hamlet St. Wolfgang and follow the country road that takes us through a pleasantly cool forest down to the Schachen farm. The flat trail offers a nice variety between fields, forests and scattered farms. Soon we arrive at the hamlet Bützen. It’s well worth it to stop here and observe the storks that have built their nests on the roofs. With a bit of luck, mostly during the early summer season, you can see how the young birds are fed. We continue our walk through a light forest and soon arrive at the covent Frauental. It’s worth stopping here in any case. At the Islikon stables the trail climbs a bit and soon we can enjoy a view onto the quaint village of Niederwil. Another short climb and we are already in Friesencham, from where we can leisurely walk back to Cham.
