The largest city in Switzerland

Zürich combines and idyllic setting with a creative city life. This cultural town on the shores of the lake offers countless cultural insitutions, an attractive art scene and the widest choice of nightlife activities in the whole of the country.
There are over 50 museums, more than 100 galleries as well as countless other cultural institutions such as the opera house, the Kunsthaus art gallery, the Tonhalle concert hall and the Swiss National Museum, to mention just a few. What they all have in common is that they ensure Zurich remains very much alive as a centre of culture.
The city also has more to offer than the historic stone buildings of the Old City. Modern new skyscrapers have sprung up alongside alternative oases and creatively used former industrial buildings in areas such as Zurich West or District 4, none of them far from the most diverse choice of night-life venues in the whole country.
