Dominik Flückiger's Kinimode & Täktig - Sounds of home #4

Folk music: new and yet very traditional
The last of the four concerts in this season of Heimatklänge is yet another encounter between new and traditional Swiss folk music at the highest level of performance. With his unmistakable compositions and arrangements, we get to know the sound universe of the young organ player Dominik Flückiger. Together with his ensemble Kinimode, he combines traditional music with groovy fusion jazz in an upbeat, subtle and sometimes sentimental way. The first-class line-up of the ensemble guarantees a refreshing musical experience. Lukas Gernet on piano, whom we have already heard with Gläuffig, and Pirmin Huber on bass from the group Ambäck are now, like Flückiger himself, among the exponents of new Swiss folk music. They are guarantors of the highest musical virtuosity.

For this concert, Flückiger has invited Trio Täktig, who are also still young and play traditionally. He has thus created an inspiring juxtaposition of academic perfection with traditional versatility, the likes of which cannot be studied at any university. With great dedication to detail, Täktig loves to interpret old music from Central Switzerland and the Bernese Oberland in their very own "täktig" way.

Every concert in the "Heimatklänge" series is a unique experience. The ambitious program is now in its third season. The focus is once again on the highlights of new Swiss folk music, which always guarantee surprising musical experiences. Highly talented musicians with the necessary vision have thoroughly dusted off the Heimatklänge and created completely new sound horizons. Two groups will perform at each of the four concerts.

One traditional and one that creates something new from the traditional. They meet with great enthusiasm and respect for each other. They are all driven by the same basic idea that one's own roots are still the most beautiful foundation. The concerts in this series are a real treat, and not just for fans of new Swiss folk music. There is just as much room for down-to-earth music as for sophisticated light music.
