Commitment to Sustainability

Zug Tourism views sustainability as an ongoing process and implements concrete measures both within its own operations and in collaboration with partners.

Digital Zug Card

With the digital Zug Card, Zug Tourism is embracing a modern and resource-efficient solution for its guest card. Digitization simplifies processes and reduces the use of physical materials. At the same time, guests gain easy digital access to various services and offers. Through various pilot projects, Zug Tourism is doing everything it can to integrate the Zug Card as a permanent product by 2027.

Internal Sustainability Training

Zug Tourism employees are made aware of sustainability in their day-to-day work. An annual, internal sustainability training session imparts knowledge and highlights concrete ways to incorporate environmental, social, and economic aspects into operations.

Clean-Up Day

Zug Tourism works together with regional partners to promote a clean and livable region. Clean-Up Day raises awareness among locals and other stakeholders and motivates them to take active steps against littering.

Sustainability Summit

Through the annual Sustainability Summit, Zug Tourism promotes dialogue within the industry. Service providers and other partners have the opportunity to discuss current sustainability topics, share experiences, and jointly develop concrete solutions for more sustainable tourism in the Canton of Zug.

Through its Swisstainable certification, Zug Tourism is committed to continuous improvement. The tourism organization regularly reviews its own activities, implements concrete measures, and simultaneously supports partners and service providers on their path toward more sustainable tourism.
