Every now and then the moor reveals its hidden treasures. Small ponds reflect the surrounding trees and blur the boundaries between heaven and earth. Mosses in all shades of green, line the path and form a unique work of art, painted by nature itself. A hike through the Zugerberg mire landscape offers first-class insights into this special ecosystem. The moors are characterized by dwarf shrubs such as broom heather, blueberry and bilberry. With a bit of luck, ground-nesting birds such as the willow warbler, tree pipit or whinchat can be observed.
