Free medieval workshop

To coincide with the special exhibition "hûs, stat, fëld - the Middle Ages in Central Switzerland", Museum Burg Zug is setting up a medieval workshop. On selected Wednesday afternoons from February 2026, the workshop offers young and old the opportunity to experiment, try things out and slip into the role of medieval craftsmen and women. Get to know typical materials and techniques of the Middle Ages. Find out how a stonemason worked his stones without modern machines, how time-consuming it was to make your own spoon, why salt was so precious and how difficult it was to write with pen and ink! We invite our guests on a lively journey of discovery into the Middle Ages - with head, heart and hands.
