The sculptures of one of the greatest sculptors of modern times are scattered all over the world. There are only a few cities in Switzerland that have a monumental work by him. Zug is one of them.

The monumental abstract sculptures by Henry Moore (1898-1986) are popular all over the world, but only a few cities in Switzerland have works by the great sculptor. Zug is one of them. The almost four-metre-high "Edge Knife Figure" stands at the entrance to Badi Seeliken right by the water and appears to be watching over swimmers. Originally placed on the company premises of the Landis & Gyr Foundation, the sculpture was given to the city of Zug as a gift in 1977 and finally erected on the lake after the casino expansion. The "Edge Knife Figure" was the first example of Moore's "Standing Figures" in Switzerland. The statue combines boneliness, winged features and femininity, similar to the Nike of Samothrace. It is a remarkable achievement for Zug to own a work by this outstanding artist.
