Since 1798, there have been 17 commercial distilleries at 25 locations in the city of Zug alone that specialized in cherry brandy. The historic and still active locations are now marked with black enamel tablets and allow interested parties and tourists to take exciting discovery tours of the once flourishing cherry industry in the city.
