Follow the river Sihl

Jogging route

Discover this first-class trail along the enchanting Sihl, which takes you into an idyllic natural setting. The landscape at the Schönenberger rapids, the so-called Sihlsprung, will surprise and impress you.

In die Nagelfluhfelsen ist eine Galerie bebaut worden. Links neben dem gedeckten Weg fliesst der Fluss.

The adventure begins at the parking lot on Sihbruggstrasse and takes you on a scenic trail along the river. The trail changes character as it progresses, from gravel paths to single trails that wind through the surroundings.

The route requires you to cross the Sihl River twice, once shortly after the start and then halfway through. The outward route presents itself almost flat, while on the way back you will have to cope with a few more meters of altitude before the finish.

During your adventure, some remarkable highlights await you. The narrow passage and the numerous nailfluh blocks make the otherwise quiet Sihl look wild and archaic. The trail not only winds around the mossy rocks and under overhanging walls directly along the banks of the Sihl, but also through tunnels, the Sihlgalerien. The tunnel system was originally built by the water supply of the city of Zurich and has probably accidentally become a tourist attraction.
