The forestry workers bring the floating logs into the shape of a triangle. First, the workers use special chains to form an open frame of logs, into which they then integrate the remaining trees with the help of the "raft hook", using a lot of balancing skills. Finally, the triangle is closed and tied across with wire ropes. The raft is ready for the crossing. There must be no wind on the day of the crossing. Foehn winds would cause the weighty package to drift. Two motorboats serve as propulsion, which "push" the raft to Ober- or Unterägeri at a speed of 2 km/h.
