Holzwämreverbund Menzingen

A central fire heats the village. Connecting to a heating network is a safe, clean and convenient way to heat your home.

The Menzingen wood-fired central heating system supplies the village center and the Menzingen Institute via a 2.5 km-long heating network. The heating network was built by Wasserwerke Zug (WWZ) and put into operation in 2010. At full capacity, the wood chip heating system is fed with around 9500 cubic meters of wood chips from the surrounding forests every year. This saves over 900,000 liters of heating oil and 2500 tons of C02 per year.
