The Zugerberg, located above the city of Zug, is a popular destination for hiking and enjoying nature. The Zugerbergbahn provides a comfortable ride up to Zug’s local mountain. Once at the top, visitors will find vast meadows, shady forests, beautiful viewpoints, and the unique moorland landscape of the Zuger Hochmoor.

About 80 kilometers of marked hiking trails offer numerous opportunities to explore the Zugerberg on foot. The moorland is one of the region’s most valuable natural areas and provides a habitat for a diverse array of plant and animal life.

The three loop trails—“Hase,” “Fuchs,” and “Hirsch”—wind through the landscape along different routes. The “Hase” trail is accessible and suitable for families with strollers as well as people with limited mobility.

The Zuger Hochmoor can be explored in any season and offers a nature-filled retreat just a few minutes from the city of Zug.
