The Theater Casino belongs to the group called Q12. These 12 small and medium-sized conference centers have the mission to become more sustainable - even more sustainable than they are today. They have chosen the Swisstainable program for the following reasons:

  • Not another new certificate but recognizes existing ones
  • Very many possibilities
  • Individual scope for action for the different houses
  • Measures as part of the Swisstainable program

The Theater Casino Zug has divided its measures into three areas:

  • Separation of waste
  • Increasing energy efficiency
  • Inclusion of all guests
  • The individual measures within the areas are explained below:

    Waste separation

First of all, they looked at classic measures such as waste separation. They saw that paper goes with paper, glass with glass, etc. The analysis of the current situation then helped them to introduce the subsequent measures for sorting and disposal.

    Increasing energy efficiency

Sustainability is also about energy issues, such as saving electricity. Where and how can savings be made? The following questions arise: Where do the lights need to be on and where not? Where does it need to be warm and how?

The Theater Casino Zug has taken the following measures as part of the Swisstainable program:

  • External energy consultants hired to optimize over 3 years
  • By the end of the year, they should have a PV (photovoltaic) system on the roof. This will allow them to produce a lot of electricity for their own use.
  • Inclusion of all guests

The Theater Casino focuses on the inclusion of all guests. Whether in a rollator, wheelchair, baby carriage or with a lot of luggage - they try to improve the trip to the Theater Casino for everyone.

The following questions have arisen: How can we make it easier for people to access the premises? Or how can contrast be improved for the visually impaired?

The following specific measures were examined for the visually impaired:

Inductive hearing systems that amplify sound are already in use for people with a hearing impairment.
