Rotkreuz is an important railroad junction in the canton of Zug. This is where the Zuger Kulturweg hike begins. Not far from the station is the Sijentalwald, a small and well-kept nature reserve. The Binzmühle pond and the mill of the same name provide a great contrast to the hustle and bustle at the station.
The hike takes you through an idyllic landscape, across fields and past traditional and beautifully decorated farms. Once you arrive in Hünenberg, you can enjoy the cool shade of the densely wooded Lowal valley, where the castle ruins of the Lords of Hünenberg are located. You can take a well-earned break here against a medieval backdrop. A barbecue area is available.
Refreshed, you pass the vineyard chapel and the Gesellenhaus zur Wart to reach the cultural highlight of the tour. The late Gothic church of St. Wolfgang is a listed building and is famous for its sacrament house.The tour ends in Cham, where you can round off the tour in Villette Park on Lake Zug.
