Since 1912, the Morgarten Shooting Competition (300 m) has been held on November 15 at the Morgartendenkmal. Every year, more than 1,200 shooters from all over Switzerland gather for this physically demanding, friendly competition in memory of the Battle of Morgarten on November 15, 1315. This, Switzerland’s largest historical shooting competition, allows participants to celebrate and experience the legend of Morgarten together. The Morgarten Shooting, along with the anniversary commemoration at the Battle Chapel and the Morgarten Pistol Shooting, forms the “Morgarten Tradition.”

- Program (excerpt): 7:00 a.m. Wreath-laying ceremony at the Hauptsee Church; 8:00 a.m. Start of shooting; 4:00 p.m. Shooters’ assembly with flag procession and commemorative address; 5:00 p.m. Announcement of results
