Zug's old town looks back on 800 years of history. Few other Swiss cities have a comparable stock of buildings erected in the Middle Ages. Every era left its mark and accordingly the old town is rich in sights. The most famous is undoubtedly the 52-meter-high Zytturm, which was once part of the ring wall and formed the fortified entrance to the old city.
