The old town of Zug looks back on 800 years of history. Few other Swiss towns have a comparable number of buildings that were erected in the Middle Ages. Every era has left its mark and the Old Town is correspondingly rich in sights. The most famous is undoubtedly the 52-metre-high Zytturm tower, which was once part of the ring wall and formed the fortified entrance to the old town.
